Pole dancing is becoming a very popular trend.  Not only do the words “pole dancing” evoke thoughts of sexuality and power, they can represent a great workout plan for your body. Health clubs and gyms are getting in on this pole dancing phenomenon by offering pole dancing classes at various fitness levels.  However, for those who are a bit more reserved, learning the craft of pole dancing in the home might be a bit more comfortable.  There are videos on the market that are more fitness based and there are those that teach you how to pole dance to perform for a sexual partner.  You can even hire a professional pole dancing instructor to give you private lessons in your home.  They will bring a portable pole!

Whichever type of video you choose or if you opt for private lessons, you will find that pole dancing is a skill that must be learned through practice.  There is an art to moving your body effectively using balance and grace.  Here are a few steps that you may learn from a pole dancing video or instructor:

Prerequisite: A pole installed in your house.  It should be screwed into a stable, structure so the pole will support your weight.  Follow installation directions carefully.

Apparel: A skill that is taught through pole dancing is sexuality and sensuality.  Put on your sexiest clothing when dancing.  It will help you loosen up and be your sexiest self (You might want to hold off on high heels until you are ready).

Relationship with the pole: Since the pole is your major prop, you will need to learn how use it not only for balance and stability but as a tool to wrap your body around.  A skilled pole dancer gets the observer to just see them and they forget the pole is even there.  Walking around, rubbing your body against and caressing the pole will get you used to using it as a tool to promote your sensual moves.

Once you are comfortable moving around the pole, you might try some more advanced moves like pivots, twists, bends and arching body backwards.  The video tutorial or instructor will help you determine when to move on to more advanced skills.  Before long, you will notice a difference in your confidence and how your body moves.
